Experience

We are one of the most if not THE most experienced PT6a engine shop in the country. The Pratt and Whitney PT6 engine has been our only focus since our inception in 1981. The guys working in the shop have been here an average of 18 years each. We have very little turnover. The men in the shop have 313 combined years of experience. Also the owner, Jim Mills, has over 50 years of experience. And we are bringing in young mechanics to follow in the footsteps of some of the most experienced mechanics in the industry.

Meet our General Manager/Chief Inspector

Jay Streb

Jay Streb joins Turbines Inc., as our new General Manager. Streb brings with him more than 40 years of PT6 engine experience. Streb joins Turbines Inc. after working at Prime Turbines for 11 years. It was at Prime Turbines where he was in charge of the complete operation of FAA Certified Repair Station overhauling and repairing Pratt & Whitney turbine engines. He set up repair station form scratch including work space, tooling, FAA coordination, staffing and inventory.

Meet our Shop Foreman

Frank Lloyd

Frank has been with Turbines Inc since its beginning in 1981.  He has been involved in aviation for 47 years.  His career began in the Navy on a carrier during the Vietnam War.  There he was a jet engine mechanic and also specialized in hydraulics.  After his time in the service, he continued working in aviation and came to Turbines as shop foreman when Jim Mills started the company.

Meet our Outside Consultant

Bill Ross

Bill is in house at Turbines Inc several days each week.  His specialty is compliance with FAA regulations.  He also handles our FAA Approved DER Repairs and STC’s.
Bill is retired  Coast Guard.

Jim Mills

Jim Mills founded Turbines Inc. in 1981. He saw a need in the turbine agricultural world for a quality Turbine shop. He based the business on knowledgeable people, fast turn times, and fair prices. The business aviation sector benefits from Jim’s streamlining initiative as well. Jim has over 50 years of experience. Over the past five decades, Jim has invented many products to make aircrafts more efficient for less money.
